Chances are, you missed all of that behind the monotone sound of her voice. She’s fine with it, but she’s doing the same thing too. The song’s clever lyrics detail her knowledge of a cheating boyfriend. Unfortunately, this method of delivery masks the potential impact of tracks like “Not A Love Song”. She sticks to singing in a lower register, peppered with auto tuned highlights. There was clearly a goal to have one sound on the album. “Amnesia” hoovers around the same vibe as its predecessor, culminating a relaxing atmosphere. She’s sexier and more confident here, as she urges her lover to explore his curiosity….and let her indulge in hers. The song is more melodic and less upbeat than the music from her first two albums.
